Iroko Framework

The Iroko Framework is a modular, stewardship-centered knowledge framework for modeling, preserving, and governing Afro-Atlantic cultural, ritual, and historical knowledge in digital environments.

Developed under the Iroko Historical Society, the Framework provides vocabularies, argumentation structures, and ethical constraints that support non-extractive archival practice, linked data interoperability, and long-term cultural care. Rather than functioning as a database, the Iroko Framework defines the conceptual and ethical infrastructure that downstream archives, research projects, and community repositories may implement according to their own access protocols and traditions.
